PYTs in Delhi University (DU) have found a new way to stand tall without the discomfort, this summer season
Always wondered why Ekta Kapoor stuck to her platform chappals while all high and sundry preferred heels? Well, it seems that the Kapoor girl, for once, has found the right trend to stick to, and DU is also taking to platform chappals with a renewed gusto.
1x1 polls
For all those who thought that heels are a tad too much for college, and yet discreetly want to add that extra inch to their frame, this footwear seems to be the apt choice.
The reasons the PYTs give are pretty simple – these are casual, as comfortable as flip-flops, but look more chic. But, the less quoted, more obvious reason is that they all want to look taller. In fact, a DU student told us cheekily, “Heels are seen as a symbol of empowerment”, but since it’s difficult to be bindaas the whole day long in pencil-thin heels, “platform chappals provide the perfect height, without the added discomfort.”
Well, it’s no surprise then that they are all flying high with this trend.
